Hakka Residence & Tung Blossom Park
A+ A-
Miaoli is home to a diversity of residents, among them the Hakka people consist of 65% of the population, making Miaoli a famous Hakka county. Built by the Miaoli County Government for the administration of Tung Blossom Park, the Hakka Residence features a collaborative effort between traditional Chinese architects and contemporary designers. The 300-ping (approximately 992 m2) three-section compound building is a perfect blend of traditional and modern architectural aesthetics. Featuring the theme of “experiencing Hakka culture,” the splendid design boasts a complete collection of Hakka furniture and objects. The exhibitions, which mainly consist of Hakka daily utensils and traditional furniture pieces, are an embodiment of the nostalgic past which is accentuated with authentic Hakka elements and culture. Tung Blossom Park is a garden full of Hakka features as well as a stage for elegant tung blossoms. The park is even more beautiful at night in summer thanks to a night lighting system illuminating the tung blossoms on the tree branches. It will be an amazing experience appreciating the beautiful white flowers in the park after the night falls.
