LinkouA District Undergoing Transformation
Linkou is a warm, rainy plateau and the active soil leaching in this area results in a red-soil bed. The unique geological environment makes Linkou a great place for tea farms and brick factories. At its prime time, Linkou accounted for half of tea production in then Taipei County along with over 30 brick kilns. Due to the industrial transition, land consolidation and transport infrastructure development, Linkou is now rapidly transforming itself into an urban city with a balanced coexistence of industry, commerce and agriculture. There are many great places for recreation and leisure activities in the Linkou area, such as the Linkou Sports Park, golf courses, Linkou Children’s Park, Lougongqi Hiking Trail, Xinlin Hiking Trail, Dingfuyan Forest Trail, etc. In addition to natural attractions, the Zhulinshan Temple and Mitsui Outlet Park are two symbols of the city’s traditional spirit and modern personality.
